Cookie Policy

Last updated: September 2026

A cookie is a small piece of text a website stores in your browser so it can remember something between pages. This page lists what BetterJobs.lk stores and why.

What we use

  • Signing in

When you log in as a job seeker, an employer or an admin, we store a session cookie so you stay logged in as you move between pages. Without it you would have to type your password on every screen. It is removed when you log out.

  • Your theme choice

If you switch between light and dark mode, we remember which you picked so the site does not flash back to the other one on your next visit.

  • Security checks

The CV checker, the sign-up forms for job seekers and employers, the free job posting form and the employer password reset use Cloudflare Turnstile to tell people apart from automated scripts. Turnstile sets its own storage in your browser to do that. This protects the free services from being used up by bots. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.

  • Fair use limits

We keep a short-lived record so one visitor cannot run the free CV checker hundreds of times and exhaust it for everyone else.

What we do not use

We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not let advertisers track you across other websites. Banner adverts on this site are simple images that we host ourselves. They do not watch what you do.

Turning cookies off

Every browser lets you block or delete cookies in its settings. You can browse jobs with them turned off. You will not be able to stay logged in, and the CV checker may not work, because both need to remember who you are between one page and the next.

Changes

If we start using cookies for anything new, we will update this page and change the date at the top.
