The web standards BetterJobs.lk meets, and what we promise job seekers and employers.
WCAG 2.1 AA
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines are the W3C's standard for websites that everyone can use, including people who use a screen reader or only a keyboard. Our main pages are tested against WCAG 2.1 at level AA with automated checks. Text contrast is tested in both light and dark mode, and keyboard use is tested too.
If something is hard to use, tell us.
TLS 1.3, HTTPS only
Every page is served over HTTPS. The connection is encrypted with TLS 1.3, the newest version, or TLS 1.2, and older versions are refused. Browsers are told to use HTTPS for BetterJobs.lk every time, so a connection cannot be quietly downgraded.
Sign-up, Post a Job and the CV checker are protected from bots, and CV files are stored privately, never at a public link.
SPF, DKIM and DMARC
These are the email standards that let your inbox check a message really came from us. Our emails come from our own domain, which publishes SPF and DMARC records, and each one is signed with DKIM. An email that claims to be from BetterJobs.lk and fails these checks is not from us.
IPv6
BetterJobs.lk answers on IPv6, the newest version of the internet protocol, as well as IPv4, so it is reachable on modern mobile and home networks.
What we promise
No ghost jobs
Every advert is checked before it goes live. Every job shows when it was posted, new adverts get a closing date, and an advert that has closed leaves the job lists. How we keep ghost jobs out
Never pay to apply
Finding jobs, applying and checking your CV are free. A genuine employer never asks you for money to apply, to be shortlisted, or for training, a visa or a deposit. The one exception is a government examination fee, paid only as its Gazette notice says. If an advert here asks for money any other way, report it and we look at it first.
Your CV stays private
We never sell your CV. An employer sees it only when you apply to their job. Our AI reads a summary of your CV with your name and contact details taken out, and we delete your CV when you ask. Privacy Policy
For employers
Posting a job is free, and every advert is checked before it is published. Paid placement is marked Promoted, and paying never makes an advert Verified. Post a job
